There is a simple story told in Matthew, Mark and Luke about one Sabbath day and one man with a shriveled hand. The man was in the Synagogue on the Sabbath and so was Jesus. He asked the man to stand up and then restored his shriveled hand to completeness. (Matthew 12, Mark 3, Luke 6)
Here were the results of this event: "the Pharisees went out and plotted how they might kill Jesus."(Matthew 12:14)"Then the Pharisees went out and began to plot with the Herodians how they might kill Jesus."(Mark 3:6)"But they [Pharisees] were furious and began to discuss with one another what they might do to Jesus."(Luke 6:11)
Why couldn't the Pharisees be glad about the healing of the man? Why couldn't they enjoy the miracle and praise God for it? Why did their mind go immediately to thoughts of destroying the miracle worker? Because of their prejudice which did not allow them to see the good but only that which stepped across their personal boundaries. They wer…
