Lying

There is a "strategy" carried out by many persons, some in politics, some in business and some in families, to lie until you get caught and then to lie your way out of it. It is a course that weaves and bobs its way along, covering up the truth with an abundance of lies.
Close to it is the second strategy to blame another for whatever it is that you are doing; to turn the focus on them rather than you. In fact, often what they say about others is exactly what they are doing themselves. It is proving your innocence by falsely accusing another.
Here is the catch-22. When lying over and over and over it becomes difficult to keep up with all your tales. You leave strands that cannot be explained and actions which become suspect. Solomon said that "a false witness will not go unpunished, and he who pours out lies will not go free." (Proverbs 19:5) In other words, lying and falsely accusing others catches up with you; you are caught in your own personal web.
This should never be the "strategy" of a believer, in fact we know that "the truth will set you free" not that it will capture and enslave you. So, consider walking in truth rather than lying your way out of any situation. Tell the truth even if it hurts. Live in the truth and you will always have a clear conscience and a pure heart.
So, what will help you to be a better truth teller and free you from lying at any level?
