Responsibilties and Benefits

Today there are many who want the benefits that American life can offer but refuse to accept the accompanying responsibilities. They want all the perks but none of the pain. That just doesn't work. Jesus was walking in Jerusalem at the time of Hanukkah, speaking to the people, when some asked him if he was the Messiah. They knew he had referenced this before but they were there to trap him, seeking a way to bring him before the Sanhedrin, their leadership body, for judgment even though they all lived under Roman rule. Jesus said to them, "I have already told you, and you don't believe me." He said to them, "you are not my sheep." (John 10:25-26) Then Jesus identified who are his sheep. He said, "My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them away from me, for my Father has given them to me, and He is more powerful than anyone else." (10:27-29) Here
