Forsaken?

Has God forsaken the world? Does He care about the nations? Some would say He has moved away from us all, that He was the creator but stepped aside because it was "no longer His problem." That's a pile of baloney that is as high as the Empire State Building! Paul at the city of Lystra on the first of his three missionary journeys became very concerned for these town folk because they assumed that he and Barnabas were Greek gods come down to earth. But, the people began to organize a great celebration including sacrifices to these apostles. Paul would have none of it and said, "We have come to bring you the Good News that you should turn from these worthless things and turn to the living God, who made heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them. In the past He permitted all the nations to go their own ways, but He never left them without evidence of Himself and His goodness. Guidance

When have you been without direction, lacking anything substantial in your life and just going about your life without purpose? We can all remember times when that has happened to us. Think of the disciples after Jesus had died. Life seemed without meaning and Peter even said, "I'm going back to fishing." He had been with the Lord for three plus years and now he was going to return to his original livelihood. Other disciples also followed him. After being on the Sea of Galilee overnight, they had caught nothing. Then a man from the shore, which was the risen Christ, called out to them to see if they had caught anything. They responded, “no.” Then taking his instruction to “throw the net on the right side of the boat” (vs. 6) they receive an abundance of fish in their nets. Instantly, John the disciple knew it was Jesus who was talking to them. He told Peter and he jumped in the water to swim to shore.
