Proper Hate

Hate is a passionate word, so how could anyone think that it is proper? Hate is a deep emotion that wells up from the heart of our soul. It motivates to action, magnifies its prey, and seeks only destruction of it. So again we say, "How can this be a good thing?" It is a good thing if it relates to pride. Solomon said, "All who fear the Lord will hate evil. Therefore I hate pride and arrogance, corruption and perverse speech (Proverbs 8:13)." The writer makes an unequivocal, straightforward and clear, statement that if you don't fear the Lord you do not hate evil. If you do fear Him, then you will hate evil. Then he says it clear and loud, "I hate pride" and her three sisters. He hates arrogance which begins in the spirit. You can see it in their attitude, their air about them, made evident by their actions. Destroying Yourself

Do you consciously think about destroying yourself? Seems ridiculous doesn't it? Destroy means to tear down, demolish, kill, completely ruin, to neutralize the effect of. We don't think about doing this to ourselves, although sometimes we think about doing it to others. Today in politics opponents try to destroy each other. Fake stories are shared to incriminate the opposition and the whole idea of "innocent till proven guilty" is out the window. So, here are some ways you can destroy yourself: Adultery - Solomon said, "The man who commits adultery is an utter fool, for he destroys himself (Proverbs 6:32)." Greed – "In their greed they [false teachers] will make up clever lies to get hold of your money. But God condemned them long ago, and their destruction will not be delayed (2 Pet. 2:3)."
